About The Position

For over 35 years, Yorktel has been the video managed services partner around the world for some of the largest business and government agencies. With over 10,000 video systems under management worldwide – more than any other video communications service provider – Yorktel has the proven expertise and global reach to deliver enterprise-quality visual communications. Yorktel is currently seeking a Cloud Architect who will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks and information security risk. The role reports to the Vice President of Global IT within the Office of CTO which is responsible for all technical responsibilities within Yorktel and for the development of new products, services, technologies and tools.

Extensive use of business computer systems including Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field.
Candidates with more than 5 years of experience managing cloud architectures will be considered.
The ideal candidate will be able to perform networking tasks, including architecture, engineering and be able to interface with Yorktel’s customers.
3-5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions; building and managing cloud operations, risk management, and Information Technology.
Good understanding and experience in the common security frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001 are a plus.
Solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud (Microsoft Azure).
Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
Valid passport; International travel possible
Valid driver’s license
Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by current or future contracts
Must be willing to apply for security clearances (clearances may be required to work at certain customer locations.)

Nice To Haves

Good understanding and experience in the common security frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001 are a plus.

Responsibilities

Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
Develop and organize cloud systems.
Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.
Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
Within the Office of CTO assist work to facilitate cloud management, risk assessment, and risk management processes.
Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems.
Knowledge of and adherence to Yorktel policies and procedures.
Assist with implementation of Yorktel’s Security and Compliance practice.
Other duties as assigned.
