As a Cloud Architect you will: Define cloud architecture blueprints (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) that support current and future business objectives, incorporating multi‑cloud and hybrid‑cloud strategies where appropriate. Lead end to end cloud solution delivery, from requirements gathering and proof of concept through production rollout and ongoing optimization. Partner with product owners, developers, security, compliance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust cloud designs. Coach and mentor junior architects, engineers, and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and cloud‑first thinking. Interpret Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guides (DoD STIGs) and remediate vulnerabilities within the information systems and maintain security compliance. Provide on-site and remote support to analyze and resolve technical issues for development and test teams working within the Integrated Development Environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including both within Lockheed Martin and external sub-contractors. As part of an Agile Development Team, you will actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality solutions. Your contributions will help maintain the secure and uninterrupted communication capabilities of critical military systems. Successful applicants typically possess a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in this area.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cloud migration projects
  • Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows System Administration
  • Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship, Final Secret Clearance needed to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps process, tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab)
  • Familiarity with military SATCOM systems and secure communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools (e.g. JIRA and Confluence)
  • Experience collaborating with program security team(s) responsible for maintaining information system accreditation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
