About The Position

MTSI is seeking a Data Systems Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, development, and integration of secure, scalable data architectures in support of next-generation mission systems. This role focuses on cloud-native data environments, secure processing, and multi-domain data operations to enable real-time decision-making and advanced analytics in support of Air Force enterprise programs. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in modern cloud platforms, data management frameworks, and DoD security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems or cloud architecture, with a focus on data systems.
  • Expertise in AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud platforms within DoD or classified environments.
  • Strong background in data security, access control, and cross-domain data integration.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Cloud Computing, or related discipline.
  • DoD 8570 certifications (e.g., CISSP, CASP+), cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect).
  • Experience supporting Air Force cloud or data modernization efforts.
  • Familiarity with mission planning, C2 systems, or platform-level data integration.

Responsibilities

  • Architect cloud-based data systems that enable secure, resilient, and scalable data processing and storage.
  • Lead development of data integration pipelines, storage strategies, and access controls across hybrid cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, software, and infrastructure teams to implement cross-domain and multi-class solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cloud and data protection standards, including IL5/IL6 and Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  • Guide the deployment of mission-enabling data services, including analytics platforms, containerized microservices, and DevSecOps tooling.
  • Define architecture artifacts including data flow diagrams, service models, and system baselines.
  • Support cloud migration and modernization strategies for legacy systems.
