About The Position

Cloud Architect. Responsible for leading the design, evolution, and governance of secure, scalable cloud architectures for MODES III systems, ensuring alignment with Government technical, security, and operational requirements. Leads design and implementation of enterprise cloud architectures supporting MODES III systems, ensuring scalability, resiliency, performance, and security. Establishes and enforces cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices to support consistent and compliant solution development. Oversees integration of cloud services, platforms, and shared services to ensure interoperability, reliability, and efficient operations. Ensures cloud architectures align with RMF, Zero Trust, and cybersecurity requirements in coordination with cybersecurity and ISSO/GRC teams. Develops and maintains cloud architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical artifacts to support authorization, sustainment, and knowledge transfer. Familiar with: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, EKS/Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, AWS EC2/S3/RDS, VPC design, IAM/KMS, GitLab CI/Jenkins/CodePipeline, ArgoCD/GitOps, Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, OpenSearch, Trivy/Checkov, Tenable/ACAS, Helm charts, disaster recovery automation, Cost Explorer/Compute Optimizer

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance required.
  • Experience / Education: 12 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or 10 years with MS/MA or 8 years with PHD or 16 years w/o a degree or 14 years with AS/AA degree
  • Certifications: This role requires a demonstration of capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Successful applicants must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty) or equivalent cloud certifications.
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF, ATO processes, and DoD security compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale government IT modernization programs.
  • CompTIA Security+
