About The Position

The Secretary of the Air Force Acquisition Chief Information Officer (CIO)/ Tools Branch requires an experienced cloud architect to lead complex cloud migration efforts. Position supports SAF/AQX in the Pentagon. This position is located in Washington, D.C. On-Site in the Pentagon (3-4 days per week minimum - subject to change and could be up to 5 days per week on site).

Requirements

  • Information synthesis, organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines are critical skills for this position
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for the senior executive level
  • Ability to assimilate, organize, and distill complex information quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to produce results in a time-constrained environment
  • Ability to work from high-level requirements through detailed specifications
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must be able to maintain a positive, customer-service attitude under stressful conditions
  • Occasional travel may be required in support of the mission

Nice To Haves

  • Have a solid background in AWS and Cloud
  • Serve as a technical PM for the SAF/AQX client

Responsibilities

  • Architecting AWS Cloud
  • Strategizing the AWS Cloud Architect infrastructure
  • Support AQXS-CIO with daily activities in Application Rationalization
  • Understanding of Security Controls
  • Project management to collaborate with different vendors and resolve any conflicts
  • Scheduling the task with different vendors on cloud migration activities
  • Understanding the Acquisition Domain is a Plus
  • Developing cloud migration schedules and cost analysis of the infrastructure
  • Networking & Security: Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and security best practices
  • Agile methodologies: Experience working in an agile environment
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading complex cloud migration or implementation projects
