About The Position

Administer the day-to-day cloud network and computer systems operations; perform a variety of technical and analytical tasks to support the cloud network infrastructure, stay informed of new technology; and provide recommendations, support, and serve as a back-up to the other positions within the department. The person in this position must be fully competent to provide a wide range of Information Systems support. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the subsequent items, and are characterized in the following five standards of performance, defined as below: I. JOB KNOWLEDGE Monitor cloud systems for performance and user connectivity; anticipate communication and connection concerns and implement preventive measures. Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud resources such as virtual machines, storage, databases, and LAN networking components such as switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points and their infrastructure. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for cloud environments. Manage agency phone systems, VoIP, PBX, satellite, cellular or similar. Manage user access, roles, email accounts, e-mail distribution lists, remote access user accounts, and file/folder security and permissions within cloud platforms to ensure data security and compliance. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures and regulatory standards related to cloud operations. Maintain documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and best practices. Maintain inventory records that include hardware; software; drivers; licenses; configuration; database records; maintenance; repairs; etc. Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner. Support the IT helpdesk with preventive maintenance and updates for equipment and systems, while assisting computer users with hardware and software issues including patches, upgrades, drivers, firmware and troubleshooting. Coordinate and provide application specific support for users with all agency applications, including but not limited to spreadsheets, databases, word processing, mailing lists, electronic signatures and email. Assist with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new/upgraded hardware/software systems. Assist with other Information Systems tasks as needed and provide back-up to other positions within the department. Conform to program changes, regulations and keep abreast of emerging developments in the field. Perform required duties in a productive and safe manner. Any additional duties assigned. II. TEAMWORK Encourage and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments in the agency, family, staff, individuals receiving services and community partners. Teamwork is essential to achieving shared goals, fostering innovation, and building strong, supportive relationships and is a requirement in the Information Technology department. Communicate all health, safety, program concerns, sensitive situations and incidents to supervisors including those involving individuals receiving services. Attend and participate in all required and/or requested departmental or agency meetings. III. DOCUMENTATION Complete required documentation in conformance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures and billing practices. Perform documentation reviews to ensure records are maintained in conformance with rules, regulations, policies, procedures and billing practices. IV. COMPLIANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY Identify and report any untoward incidents. Identify, report and/or correct all safety hazards that include physical plant and/or work practices concerns and assist with investigating all work-related accidents as requested. Participate in any investigations as required. Comply with all State and Federal regulations along with agency policies and practices. V. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT Obtain and maintain required training certifications. Attend all required training, staff development programs and committees and/or staff meetings as required by the agency and/or State and Federal regulations. Assist with IT training for new hires as required by the Training department as well as the Information Technology department. Expected to participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred with a minimum of three years in-depth knowledge of network systems administration which incorporated cloud administration, support, and maintenance of network and computer hardware and basic applications usage -Or- Experience that in the opinion of the reviewing agency, meets the above standards of the position.
  • Possess good interpersonal, written, oral, and communication abilities and effective time management/organizational skills.
  • Able to work scheduled hours that may include overtime, weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in employee personnel policy manual and handbook.
  • Be computer literate with knowledge of agency operating systems and applicable software required for all department needs.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must physically be able to perform tasks required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to install Wi-Fi access points and ethernet cabling on/in the ceilings throughout locations from varying heights.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license record that meets the agency’s insurance carrier guidelines.
