About The Position

Processes required amount of donated merchandise in preparation for sale to salvage vendors for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Must have strong adherence to all safety policies and wearing all required personal protective equipment at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to be trained and take direction.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to use a calculator to add and subtract numbers.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.

Responsibilities

  • Meets minimum daily quota set for assigned department of 1,000 pounds or more (table or conveyor sorting).
  • Inspects donated merchandise, as required, analyzing quality, condition and determining proper category.
  • Learns multiple sorting positions and categories on the conveyor.
  • Records all gaylord weights sorted, and all categories of graded carts on tally sheets provided.
  • Responsible for recording ending weights at the end of the day and starting weights in preparation for the next day.
  • Receives and processes clothing pulls from the retail stores, inspecting quality, type of material, size and/or style of clothing, determining which category it will go into.
  • Able to identify and discard any contaminants, unsaleable product. Non-qualifying items go into a separate Gaylord and are re-routed to the clearance store.
  • Maintains workstation in an organized and safe manner, free from food, drink, or other personal items.
  • Safeguards company property, including donated goods.
  • Reports any incidents of theft, misappropriation, or unauthorized possession of company property.
  • May be cross-trained to work as a Runner, or Salvage processing.
  • Maintains a clean work environment, including grading equipment, restrooms, warehouse floors, production stations and parking lots, as directed.
  • Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment/PPE is used. Immediately takes action and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
