About The Position

We are now seeking talented individuals to join our team for the following role: TITLE: Closure Service Engineer REPORTS TO: Closure Technical Lead BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for supporting field technical service activities for closure products to ensure customers achieve optimal line efficiency and minimize scrap rates. This position provides hands-on training and development opportunities in beverage closure systems, filling and capping operations, and customer technical support under the guidance of senior technical staff. The Closure Service Engineer will develop expertise in closure performance troubleshooting, line auditing, and customer relationship management while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Science, or related technical field, or Associate's degree with relevant technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing, packaging, beverage industry, or technical customer support roles. Recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interest in developing technical expertise in beverage packaging systems, closure technology, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Customer service orientation with professional demeanor and eagerness to build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document observations accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Willingness to travel extensively to customer locations, including occasional overnight trips and weekend work as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Internship or co-op experience in beverage manufacturing, packaging operations, or customer-facing technical roles.
  • Exposure to filling and capping equipment, packaging lines, or manufacturing quality systems through academic projects or work experience.
  • Knowledge of injection molding, mold design, or plastic closure manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools, and technical documentation software.
  • Understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements in food and beverage packaging.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with hands-on mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technical staff in providing professional customer service support, responding to technical inquiries, and building relationships with key bottlers while learning effective communication skills and customer service.
  • Support customer visits and technical troubleshooting activities under supervision, gradually developing the ability to independently diagnose and resolve closure performance issues.
  • Participate in new product introduction activities and qualification processes, learning proper testing protocols, documentation requirements, and customer acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct line audits at customer bottling locations with guidance from the Closure Technical Lead, documenting equipment conditions, processing parameters, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Investigate customer complaints and quality issues, collecting relevant data and samples, and escalating complex issues to senior technical staff or appropriate departments as needed.
  • Support customers with capper setup, adjustment, and optimization to improve closure application performance and line efficiency, developing hands-on expertise with various capping equipment types.
  • Collect and document customer equipment specifications, processing conditions, and production system details for database maintenance and technical reference.
  • Develop technical knowledge of beverage filling and capping systems, packaging and handling equipment, closure design and manufacturing, and quality assurance methodologies through structured training and field experience.
  • Learn and apply closure industry standards, customer specifications, and best practices while working alongside experienced technical staff on customer projects.
  • Complete detailed customer visitation reports and activity summaries for review by the Closure Technical Lead, ensuring accurate documentation of findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly expense reports and travel documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Support technical presentations and demonstrations for sales activities as requested, developing presentation skills and product knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Closure Technical Lead. Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.
