About The Position

Blue Ribbon Residential Construction, Inc. is looking for a Closet & Cabinet Technician for their mid to high-end residential remodeling projects. The Cabinet & Closet Technician supports the cabinet and closet division with field prep, deliveries, installations, and quality completion. This role bridges the gap between delivery and installation, ensuring job sites are ready, installs go smoothly, and finishing details meet company standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GEG) required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cabinet installation, finish carpentry, or millwork.
  • Strong understanding of cabinet systems, hardware, and installation methods (frameless, face-frame, RTA, custom, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and layout plans.
  • Skilled in using hand tools and power tools (drills, routers, levels, nailers, etc.).
  • Proficient in measuring, cutting, and fitting cabinetry with precision.
  • Experience with crown molding, trim, and built-ins.
  • Previous carpentry, cabinet/closet install, or finish trim experience.
  • Ability to read plans and use measurement tools accurately.
  • Comfortable with power tools and shop/field equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finish work.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and prioritize to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Computer skills including but not limited to: Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets.
  • Familiar with BuilderTrend software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers and trade partners.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and state required insurance (box truck or van driving a plus).
  • Dress and groom neatly and professionally.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check and be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Additional schooling within construction field a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Mark floors and walls to confirm cabinet and closet layouts before installation.
  • Verify field measurements and communicate discrepancies to the design/production team.
  • Assist with deliveries, ensuring safe transport and staging of cabinets and closets.
  • Perform cabinet and closet installations, adjustments, and minor modifications under supervision.
  • Complete punch list items, including trim installation, door/drawer adjustments, shelving, and hardware changes.
  • Support general punch assistance across jobsites as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and tools.
  • Represent the company professionally with clients and trade partners.
  • Establish good working relationships with other team members.
  • Perform research on products/accessories integrated in a project according to specifications.
  • Proactively identify potential problems to eliminate/reduce negative impact on the customer.
