JOB SUMMARYResponsible for accurately timing, recording, and reporting official workouts for Thoroughbred horses during training hours in accordance with racing regulations and Company standards. This is a seasonal position for the March race meet at Colonial Downs.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail and ability to record precise timing data.
Knowledge of Thoroughbred racing terminology, workout distances, and training practices.
Ability to concentrate for extended periods in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow strict regulatory and procedural requirements.
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Virginia Racing Commission racing license.
The Team Member will be required to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, reach, handle, or feel objects or equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The Team Member may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The Team Member may be required to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and during designated training hours.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
The work environment is primarily outdoors and may include exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise associated with track operations.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a clocker or in Thoroughbred racing operations preferred.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Accurately time official workouts for Thoroughbred horses during designated training hours using approved timing methods and equipment.
Record workout times, distances, track conditions, and other required details in accordance with racing regulations.
Ensure all recorded workout information is complete, accurate, and submitted within required timeframes.
Communicate effectively with racing officials, trainers, and track personnel regarding workout timing and reporting.
Maintain awareness of horse identification to ensure workouts are correctly attributed.
Adhere to all Virginia Racing Commission regulations, Company policies, and departmental procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all workout data and privileged racing information.
Identify and report irregularities, discrepancies, or safety concerns to the appropriate racing officials.
Attend required training sessions and meetings as directed.
Resolves problems within the scope of authority and escalates issues beyond that scope to the supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
