Within the Jail Diversion program, staff work within the courts and mental health systems to assist adult clients with mental health and/or substance abuse issues who are at risk of going to jail. The goal of the program is to divert unnecessary stays in the correctional system while providing clients with an opportunity to become involved in treatment. Successful involvement in the program helps a client to reduce or possibly eliminate charges on their record. As a Clinician, you will provide assessment and treatment interventions, conduct clinical and risk assessments, and collaborate with individuals to create person-centered treatment plans. This role involves working with clients to develop discharge plans, maintaining collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers, and providing crisis assessment and intervention. Care may be provided in various settings including office, home, residential, and community-based environments.
