About The Position

The Clinician II develops a recovery service plan and uses recovery-oriented therapeutic counseling to engage individuals in their individual recovery journey. The Clinician II also orients individuals to the program by collaborating and assessing needs, identifying challenges and facilitating the development of goals in the treatment and recovery process.

Requirements

  • State professional certification, where applicable.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Associate, Provisional, or Dependent Licensure in good standing in an applicable Behavioral Health field required.
  • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
  • Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.
  • Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
  • Must be able to pass education verification check.
  • Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).
  • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in RI International driving policy.
  • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
  • A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the mental health professional for individuals until they are enrolled in services at another community agency, when applicable.
  • Determines a provisional diagnosis, obtains documentation of medical necessity and submits authorizations for service in a timely fashion.
  • Conducts thorough clinical assessments and treatment plans for services.
  • Assesses the individual's needs and provides appropriate support and referral.
  • Provides short-and long-term recovery-oriented therapeutic counseling and education, on a group or individual basis.
  • Provides family education and family counseling.
  • Completes clinical documentation as required.
  • Facilitates recovery education courses.
  • Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all RI International policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Performs other related duties assigned.
