About The Position

As a Clinician I - Triage Coordinator, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments in client crisis situations, coordinating with emergency responders, and managing necessary paperwork. You will oversee urgent walk-in services to ensure timely admissions, conduct screenings and initial behavioral health assessments, and assist clients in developing service plan goals. Additionally, you will help with discharge planning and maintain internal tracking systems for walk-ins and referrals. This position requires bilingual Spanish skills and a strong background in behavioral health.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a mental health-related field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
  • License-eligible or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Waivered Psychologist with the California Board of Psychology.
  • Bilingual Spanish is required.
  • 2+ years of direct work experience in behavioral health or community-based social services programs.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to screen, triage, and assess for risk and safety factors.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose using DSM criteria.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments in client crisis situations.
  • Call and meet with emergency responders to provide pertinent information.
  • Handle all necessary paperwork including Tarasoff and incident reports.
  • Oversee urgent walk-in services for timely admission of new referrals.
  • Direct, monitor, and conduct screening and initial behavioral health assessments.
  • Screen and triage clients for risk and safety concerns.
  • Provide crisis intervention to ensure client and program safety.
  • Assist clients in developing service plan goals and prioritizing needs.
  • Assist with discharge planning and care coordination.
  • Maintain internal tracking systems for walk-ins and referrals.
