About The Position

Clinician I - Support Line (Regular Part-Time, Hourly) Program: Downtown IMPACT (Downtown SD), IMPACT (Central SD), Senior IMPACT (Downtown SD), South Bay IMPACT (Chula Vista) Region: Central San Diego Services: Mobile Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Career Type: Clinicians CRF - Celebrating 45 Years of Excellence in Behavioral Health Services in San Diego County! Hours: 16 hours per week; Sunday and Monday, Midnight to 8:30 am. This position supports all ACT programs (Downtown IMPACT, IMPACT, Senior IMPACT and South Bay IMPACT) Pay Rate: $37.00 to $38.48 per hour Education: Master's degree in a mental health-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling required Licensure: License-eligible or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required Candidates who are eligible to submit their BBS application within 60 days of conferred Master's degree are encouraged to apply. Clinical supervision is available for this position. As a Clinician I - Support Line, you will: Answer all phone calls in a timely and professional manner, provides appropriate interventions, including crisis intervention, community service modalities, and psychosocial rehabilitation. Conduct crisis intervention screenings and mental health exams, including thorough screening for suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation and/or grave disability. Perform a risk screening on each client and perform appropriate follow up based on overall risk formulation, which may include: safety planning with client and/or supports, consulting with PERT or law enforcement if client is deemed in need of a 5150 assessment or providing support to client to avoid need for higher level of care. Consults with supervisors as needed to manage risk within scope of practice. Determine appropriate levels of service and referral. Facilitate the safe and orderly transfer of clients to higher levels of care when needed. Document all services in the Electronic Health Record. Maintain a daily log of after-hours calls and/or contacts to report to treatment team prior to morning team meetings, so they can plan to provide appropriate follow-up accordingly. Our Intensive Mobile Psychosocial Assertive Community Treatment (Downtown IMPACT, IMPACT, Senior IMPACT, and South Bay IMPACT) programs provide intensive, community-based case management services for homeless adults throughout San Diego County. We deliver fully-integrated services to clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring, mental health, and substance disorders. Our program utilizes the evidence-based practice of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) to support our clients in the higher level of community care and to assist them in reaching their goals and living a life that is not dominated by mental illness. Our team is a model of care, providing treatment, rehabilitation, and case management supports. CRF staff members work together to meet the needs of San Diego County's residents who are experiencing mental/behavioral health challenges. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is required. Emphasis in crisis intervention preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required and must be maintained during employment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office.
  • A valid California driver's license in good standing, personal vehicle, proof of insurance and eligibility to be an approved CRF driver is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position.
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance.
