About The Position

As a Clinician I - Support Line, you will be responsible for answering all phone calls in a timely and professional manner, providing appropriate interventions, including crisis intervention, community service modalities, and psychosocial rehabilitation. You will conduct crisis intervention screenings and mental health exams, including thorough screening for suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation and/or grave disability. Additionally, you will perform a risk screening on each client and provide appropriate follow-up based on overall risk formulation, which may include safety planning with the client and/or supports, consulting with PERT or law enforcement if the client is deemed in need of a 5150 assessment, or providing support to the client to avoid the need for a higher level of care. You will also determine appropriate levels of service and referral, facilitate the safe and orderly transfer of clients to higher levels of care when needed, document all services in the Electronic Health Record, and maintain a daily log of after-hours calls and/or contacts to report to the treatment team prior to morning team meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a mental health-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
  • License-eligible or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office.
  • A valid California driver's license in good standing, personal vehicle, proof of insurance, and eligibility to be an approved CRF driver.
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance.
