About The Position

The Clinical Value Analysis Manager is responsible for driving initiatives that improve the quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare products, services, and processes within the healthcare environment. This role is vital for identifying opportunities to enhance patient care, streamline hospital operations, and reduce costs by applying value analysis principles. The Clinical Value Analysis Manager will work closely with clinical, operational, and supply chain teams to evaluate medical supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring that the hospital delivers the best possible outcomes while maintaining financial sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (RN) or a related field.
  • 3 Years of Clinical or Management Experience.
  • Nursing RN License.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Operational knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and supply chain management software in healthcare.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies in healthcare.
  • Experience with hospital management software or value analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience in value analysis, supply chain management, or procurement in a healthcare or hospital setting can be substituted for an Associate's and 5 Years of Equivalent Management Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the hospital's value analysis program by overseeing the evaluation, selection, and standardization of medical products, equipment, and services, ensuring alignment with clinical needs, patient outcomes, and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and other key stakeholders to assess current products and services, identify areas for improvement, and evaluate new products or alternatives.
  • Develop and maintain a structured value analysis process that incorporates evidence-based practices, cost analysis, and input from cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and manage the Value Analysis Committee (VAC), facilitating meetings to review product usage, cost efficiency, and clinical performance data.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and recommend product or service substitutions that maintain or improve patient outcomes while reducing costs.
  • Work closely with supply chain and strategic sourcing teams to manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure the best value for the hospital.
  • Drive efforts to standardize products and reduce clinical variation, improving consistency in care delivery while optimizing cost savings.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of value analysis initiatives, tracking cost savings, quality improvements, and operational efficiencies, and communicating outcomes to senior management.
  • Serve as the hospital’s subject matter expert on value analysis and related methodologies, providing training and support to staff on the processes and benefits.
  • Stay up to date on healthcare industry trends, new medical technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure the hospital's value analysis efforts remain current and effective.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements in all value analysis processes.
  • Lead product evaluations, trials, and pilot programs for new products or services, ensuring they meet both clinical and financial objectives before adoption.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
