About The Position

Emory University is seeking a board-certified psychiatrist for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in clinical trials, including those involving psychedelic therapies and pharmacologic treatments for anxiety and depression.This position includes a 0.5 FTE commitment to clinical trials research, supported by an active and well-established clinical trials infrastructure, and a 0.5 FTE clinical role within the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. The successful candidate will also direct a resident-staffed psychopharmacology clinic and contribute to residency education and supervision.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Georgia. Applicants should also be willing to obtain a controlled substance license (CS-1) since they will be a DEA CS-1 prescriber for all psychedelic agents within our Department/clinical research teams.
  • Experience in clinical trials research, including psychedelic and pharmacologic interventions.
  • Academic credentials and scholarly productivity consistent with appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level on the tenure track.
  • Experience in residency education and clinical supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience with regulatory and ethical aspects of psychedelic research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead clinical trials focused on innovative treatments for anxiety and depression, including psychedelic-assisted therapies.
  • Provide direct clinical care in the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic.
  • Supervise and mentor psychiatry residents in the psychopharmacology clinic.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, advanced practice providers (APPs), and social workers in multidisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and pursuit of extramural funding.
  • Participate in departmental teaching, service, and committee activities.
