Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a science related field or clinical trials setting with exposure to medical terminology required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, healthcare, business or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent time management skills required.
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Independent problem solving skills and self-directed work experience required.
  • Ability to lead, develop and effectively contribute to project teams required.
  • Ability to demonstrate competent leadership skills required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required to include reports, publications and professional presentations required.
  • Ability to read scientific protocols required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with direct patient care in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Health care compliance experience in CMS regulations or clinical research administration to include planning and budgeting preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, or a scientific related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access, Publisher, Project and Visio preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Development of a comprehensive coverage analysis of ongoing research studies conducted at UNMC/Nebraska Medicine.
  • Providing appropriate documentation to support billing to patient/provider for charges expected to be standard of care vs. billing to research grants for all study related charges.
  • Translating information into an accurate study budget inclusive of all charges and labor.
  • Negotiating with outside sponsors for payment to the institution for participation in research studies.
