About The Position

The Clinical Training Coordinator at Alliant International University is responsible for overseeing the field training experience of Couples & Family Therapy (CFT) students at both master's and doctoral levels. This role involves developing and maintaining training sites, providing mentorship, and ensuring compliance with university standards. The Coordinator will also facilitate student training placements and support their readiness for clinical practice, all while upholding the university's mission of promoting diversity and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in MFT, Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Two years as a Licensed MFT in California providing services to diverse populations in community-based settings and providing clinical supervision and training.
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of California; AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel & Access, and CampusNexus or similar database.
  • Excellent initiative, time management, and proven follow-through skills.
  • Good supervisory skills of both staff and students.
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills in face-to-face, phone, and written interactions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with problem and conflict situations.
  • Familiarity with COAMFTE accreditation requirements, especially those for field experience and supervision.
  • Familiarity with Board of Behavioral Sciences and Board of Psychology requirements for licensure.
  • Familiarity with state and national professional organizations (AAMFT, AAMFT-CA, CAMFT, APA, CAPIC and APPIC) and their codes of ethics.
  • Excellent customer-service skills, including sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team player; highly motivated, focused and results oriented.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks according to required deadlines and maintain composure under high stress conditions.
  • Ability to be optimistic, positive, and supportive in all interactions with others.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, approve, and maintain community practicum and doctoral internship training sites.
  • Assist sites to understand and conform to university standards and requirements, providing mentorship to site supervisors as needed.
  • Assist students with all aspects of clinical training placement, including providing trainings on practicum and internship requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate annual practicum fairs on campus for student and site supervisor interaction.
  • Coordinate and conduct mandatory orientation for incoming practicum students.
  • Provide campus availability for student contact and interaction with faculty and practicum instructors.
  • Review student, site, and practicum instructor documentation to ensure compliance with program mandates.
  • Monitor student compliance with training requirements and data collection with the CFT Program Staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of all required practicum documents.
  • Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required.
