About The Position

The Clinical Therapist Intern provides supervised clinical services to clients while completing required academic and licensure‑track training. This role offers hands‑on experience in assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention within an ethical, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive framework.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Direct Client Care
  • Perform Appropriate Documentation and Administrative Tasks
  • Engage in Professional Collaboration
  • Perform Crisis and Risk Management
  • Administrative and Organizational engagement
  • Conduct intake assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and risk assessments under supervision
  • Provide individual, group, or family counseling using evidence‑based practices appropriate for the training level
  • Develop collaborative treatment plans with clients
  • Deliver interventions that support client goals
  • Complete session notes, assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries within agency timelines
  • Maintain accurate, concise, and ethical clinical documentation that meets HIPAA and organizational standards
  • Use electronic health record (EHR) system effectively and securely
  • Participate in scheduled individual and/or group supervision and come prepared with case material
  • Engage in reflective practice, including awareness of countertransference and professional boundaries
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and interdisciplinary collaboration as appropriate
  • Communicate professionally with staff, providers, and referral sources within scope of role
  • Support program‑related activities such as groups, outreach, or psychoeducation when assigned
  • Assist in identifying and responding to client risk (e.g., self-harm, harm to others, abuse)
  • Follow agency protocols for crisis intervention, safety planning, and emergency procedures
  • Document critical incidents clearly and promptly, notifying supervisors as required
  • Support program activities such as outreach, psychoeducation groups, or community events
  • Maintain punctuality, reliability, and professional demeanor
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and workflow guidelines
