About the position

Thresholds' Emerging Adults Division is seeking a licensed clinician to fill a Therapist position serving the North side of Chicago. This role is part of an innovative team that focuses on specialized therapeutic skills aimed at making a life-long impact on the mental health of youth and their families. The programs utilize evidence-informed coordinated care approaches to treat young adults struggling with serious mental illness, First Episode of Psychosis, and Clinical High Risk for Psychosis. The services provided are designed to change the trajectory of mental health needs for young people and are part of a national innovative movement in services. The multidisciplinary team offers specialized assessment, care coordination, individual therapy, family psychoeducation, medication management, vocational/educational support, and community outreach using evidence-informed approaches. New therapists will receive expert training in treatment models and will play an integral role in the growth and development of the Emerging Adult programs.

Responsibilities

  • Generate treatment plans
  • Provide individual therapy
  • Complete diagnostic assessments
  • Assist with care coordination
  • Lead family education efforts
  • Facilitate workshops, activities, and programs for Young Adults' development

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Ability to document services clearly and effectively
  • Ability to function well independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Daily access to a personal vehicle
  • Willingness to provide transportation for program members
  • Obtain and maintain liability car insurance of $100,000 per person bodily injury, $300,000 per accident, and $100,000 property damage
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field required

Nice-to-haves

  • Clinical licensure (LPC, LSW, LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) preferred
  • Experience with DBT and Expressive Arts is a plus
