ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION ▪ Provides clinical/therapeutic interventions with children and their caregivers and/or adults receiving services in accordance with current best practices for the identified need(s). ▪ Provides group counseling modalities as directed by clinical care director or clinical director. ▪ Provides crisis interventions and clinical consultation to staff, Child and Family Teams or treatment teams. ▪ Assists clinical care directors or clinical directors and/or intake specialists with clinical formulations and oversight of clinical interventions provided by Southwest Network and/or contracted providers. ▪ Conducts intakes and assessments as needed. ▪ Participates in the Child and Family Team (CFT) process and facilitates CFT meetings as needed. ▪ Assists in the development of individual service plans and reviews and approves assessments and service plans as needed. ▪ Accurately and thoroughly documents all services and activities in the medical record according to policy using approved forms and electronic systems. ▪ Conducts frequent community visits, including but not limited to private homes, Southwest Network sites, provider/treatment/service locations, educational facilities, jail/juvenile facilities, hospitals, and residential treatment/group homes. NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ▪ Assists the quality improvement team as needed. ▪ Provides or coordinates transportation to youths and families as appropriate utilizing employee’s personal vehicle. ▪ Participates in meetings at Southwest Network and attends meetings at health plan providers. ▪ Follows policies and procedures and adheres to the requirements of the Corporate Compliance Program. ▪ Ensures confidentiality of verbal and written information in accordance with HIPAA standards and Southwest Network policy, and adheres to the legal, ethical and professional guidelines adopted by Southwest Network. ▪ Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
  • Must possess an associate level license in Arizona.
  • Must maintain current CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications.
  • Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Thorough and working knowledge of psychiatric and co-occurring disorders is imperative.
  • Knowledge of the spectrum of mental illnesses, current DSM-5 and ICD-10 codes and descriptions, psychotropic medications and crisis intervention required.
  • Must be able to function as a member of a Child and Family Team or clinical treatment team in a managed care environment.
  • Must be able to maintain excellent member and family relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Must have effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and understand how to tactfully communicate difficult or sensitive information.
  • Must be able to follow direction, use sound judgment, solve problems, manage time, identify priorities, and stay organized. Must also be able to work independently and under pressure, as well as manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be competent in the use of electronic medical records software, as well as in the use of a computer, printer, copier, and telephone.
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to effectively use the internet and various web browsers.
  • Travel between Southwest Network sites as well as in the community is required. Must have a registered and reliable vehicle that meets Arizona state law standards and meet the insurance standards of Southwest Network.
  • Work is performed in the community as well as an office setting; must be able to move about; occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and position self to reach items under or above desks, in storage, or in areas not easily accessible; some lifting also required.
  • Evening or weekend hours required on an as-needed basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of community based behavioral health services preferred, as is a thorough knowledge of the Maricopa County behavioral health system.
  • Preferred typing skills of 25 to 40 WPM.
  • Occasional use of fax machines, security systems, and other office equipment.
