About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus, a world-class healthcare organization known for advanced research, surgery, and leading-edge technology. As a Clinical Technician in the G50/G51 Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU), you will be part of a team treating high-acuity medical conditions requiring critical care, including procedures like bronchoscopies, endoscopies, emergent intubations, and central line placements. This role is crucial in providing the best possible patient care experience. Caregivers in this position work rotating day/evening/night/weekend shifts, typically 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period (Nursing students must obtain prior to hire)
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)
Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level

Responsibilities

Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as checking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
