The 4 Main Neuroscience Unit has 20 beds and specializes in medical, neurological and telemetry services for neurological diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, strokes, seizures, migraines and other conditions. As a Clinical Technician, you will assist with basic patient care, maintain room cleanliness and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience, enhance your skills, and pursue career growth within the Cleveland Clinic. Eligible caregivers may also benefit from tuition reimbursement, all while contributing to excellent patient care and engaging with a diverse patient population. A caregiver in this position works nights 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within new hire period
- Nursing students must obtain prior to hire
- Proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level
- One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)
Responsibilities
- Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
- Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
