About The Position

As a Clinical Technician in the Float Pool, you will float to every unit at Inova Loudoun Hospital, including: Med/Surg/Tele Critical Care Units Emergency Room Pediatrics Behavioral Health Postpartum Shift: Day (7am - 7.30pm) Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation) Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training course If you are interested in learning more about a day in the life of a clinical technician, please select the following link: Working As A Clinical Technician (2 Mins)

Requirements

• Experience: 1 year acute care experience as a Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire
• Special Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required. diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• The Clinical Technician 2 Float provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintains competencies and seek opportunities to develop professionally.
• Communicates effectively and work cooperatively with others
• Serves as a unit preceptor and superuser for all new Clinical Technicians.
• Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
• Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families;
• Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
• Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records.
• Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
• Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
• Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
• Assumes responsibility for self-development in life long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
