The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 20 bed unit that is part of a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. Our team provides care for complex pediatric medical and surgical patients with a collaborative, interdisciplinary team approach. Our patients include a wide range of specialties, including but not limited to trauma, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, surgery, oncology, solid organ transplants burns, and various medical specialties. Our caring environment includes a focus on family-centered care. Within the 20 bed PICU, eight (8) beds are designated for providing specialized care to pediatric cardiac patients. This position is a dual role including Nursing Assistant (NA) and Health Unit Coordinator job related duties. The position is 36 hours/week; day/night rotation (7:00a-7:30p, 7:00p-7:30a). Summary: Responsible for assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms and performing a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance of the patient care unit desk area functions.
