About the position

This role is a part of a multispecialty physician practice team, responsible for the successful completion of day-to-day tasks of the front office to ensure quality care and excellent customer service to our patients. The role works collaboratively with other members of the team to ensure timely and smooth office flow, always keeping the needs of the patient first. Duties will include, but not limited to, patient registration, scheduling, reception, collection of payments, appropriate triage of telephone calls and the ability to access and calmly diffuse potentially problematic situations. May be required to travel to cover other practices during critical shortages.

Requirements

  • One year of administrative experience in a busy office, preferably a physician practice
  • Experience in handling multiple telephone lines
  • Excellent clerical/organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows based PC applications
  • Knowledge of Department specific services
  • Insurance knowledge and billing experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of college or equivalent work experience
  • Typing speed of 40 WPM
