About The Position

SUMMARY Hummingbird ABA Therapy offers an unpaid internship for high school students who are interested in learning about Applied Behavior Analysis and behavioral health services. This is a non-paid, non-billable training position. Interns do not provide therapy independently. All activities are supervised by a BCBA, BCaBA, or a clinical supervisor. Interns will observe and help support services for children and teens ages 2 to 21 who have disabilities or mental health needs. The goal of this internship is to help students learn about working in behavioral health, build professional skills, and gain hands-on experience in a clinic setting. The internship requires a minimum 14-week commitment. School credit may be available if approved by the student’s school. Hummingbird ABA Therapy also partners with PA CareerLink to provide paid summer internship opportunities through the In-School Youth (ISY) program. Eligible high school students may qualify for this workforce development program, which offers hands-on experience and career exploration in the behavioral health field. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Observe one-to-one therapy sessions. Help prepare materials and activities for sessions. Support treatment activities as directed by supervising staff. Learn how treatment plans are created and followed Practice basic data collection skills with supervision Observe caregiver meetings and teamwork among staff Maintain professional behavior with clients and families Complete required training and onboarding activities. Follow HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines Check in with staff during sessions to see if help is needed Duties and responsibilities may change depending on the clinic’s needs. Requirements

  • Junior or Senior year in HS
  • Must have PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances or be willing to obtain them.
