Our neonatal program is the largest in the Midwest. We provide the full scope of care for infants needing intensive care. At the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Children's Minnesota St. Paul Campus, our inter-disciplinary team of over 500 professionals is dedicated to the care of babies born prematurely, those with birth defects, genetic disorders, medical disorders and any baby needing surgery. We care for babies requiring complex care, including hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, and maintenance of systemic perfusion and management of organ failure. We are a part of the Mother Baby Center in St. Paul at United Hospital which includes high-risk delivery services. The Children's St. Paul NICU is a 62-bed unit providing level 2 and level 3 neonatal care, which allows for continuity of care from admission to discharge. Our team balances a highly technical skill set with a family-centered approach. Requirements

  • Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
  • Skills in basic computer operation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.
