The Supervisor-Nursing assists the Director in communicating and supporting the vision, mission, and goals of UHS and NWTHS for the department. The position will consist of staffing as well as operational tasks as assigned by the Director. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN preferred, or must enroll in program and have completion within 2 years.
Current licensure/permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
Certifications required by RNs in the department of employment must be obtained in the timeframes required by the applicable department.
Minimum of 2 years leadership experience preferred.
De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.
PALS within 3 months of hire. Certification must be maintained throughout employment
NRP within 3 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
STABLE within 6 months of hire; repeat renewal class every 2 years until 10 years’ experien Class may be taken

Responsibilities

Coordinates and monitors the implementation of patient flow processes ensuring operational efficiency and standardization of practice.
Ensures safe, quality patient care through appropriate allocations of resources to ensure effective patient flow.
Assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities in the absence of the Charge Nurse.
Assists the Director with operational and quality related tasks as assigned.
Maintains clinical/leadership expertise and fosters commitment, pride, & service excellence in staff by promoting positive work environment.
Demonstrates leadership in the provision of unit services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout the department and NWTH.
Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services in consistent with regulatory agency standards.
