About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Practice Manager with the day-to-day clinical operations of the unit. Responsibilities include supervision of the clinical area and support staff (nurses, MAs, sonographers, phlebotomists), serving as a liaison between the patient access and clinical area, mediating and managing provider and staff concerns, and maintaining a safe environment. Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the Practice Manager. Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the clinical patient area and support teams in collaboration with the Patient Access Supervisor to provide care to patients. Ensures that all clinic locations are compliant with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations (HIPAA, CMS, DOH). Enforces staff adherence to all Women’s Care policies and procedures. Performs general nursing care to patients, administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, and aids provider during examinations, procedures, and treatment of patients, as necessary. Ensures that the unit and/or staff achieves/maintains all required certifications (MA, AIUM). Assists the Practice Manager in recruiting clinical support staff. Responsible for the training and development of all clinical support staff, monitors performance and provides feedback, as necessary. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with clinical standards, Women’s Care policies, and safety regulations. Responsible for the ordering, controlling, and managing of all medications (routine, sample, controlled, and procedural). Conducts quarterly drills and staff meetings. Ensures all equipment is ready for use and maintained according to manufacturer instructions and inspected annually. Mitigates risk to Women’s Care by identifying potential problems, conducts investigations of any occurrences, and implements corrective actions, as warranted. Completes annual, quarterly, and monthly audits of all licenses, permits, eCW tasks, training requirements, and clinical logs. Provides ongoing staff development and evaluates efficacy. Meets with medical providers and the Practice Manager, as necessary to address clinical issues and processes. Manages staff performance and evaluations including supervising, coaching, and disciplinary action of clinical support staff. Establishes par level for clinical supplies and monitors inventory and implements measures to control expenditures. Responds to patient grievances/concerns and escalates to the Practice Manager, as necessary. Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (preferred) or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years OB/GYN office or Maternal Care Unit experience.
  • 2-3 years leadership experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of medical office protocols, procedures, and processes (universal precautions, infection control, risk management, etc.)
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred but must be proficient with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred but must be proficient with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
