About The Position

Seeking a strong Clinical Supervisor for an outpatient mental health program in Long Beach. Full-time with benefits. Exciting opportunity to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of our community based population. Duties involve co-management of the mental health team along with another Clinical Supervisor and Program Coordinator and include BBS supervision of clinical interns (individual and group), oversight and approval of documentation, teaching and supporting clinicians with crisis intervention and management of cases. Knowledge of DMH documentation/guidelines and experience with Substance Use Disorders and dual diagnosis populations preferred. Must be licensed a minimum of 2 years as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC. Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising mental health interns preferred. This is an onsite position. Competitive pay and excellent benefits.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed a minimum of 2 years as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising mental health interns preferred.
  • A Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology or social science.
  • Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science as an LCSW, MFT, or LPCC.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DMH documentation/guidelines and experience with Substance Use Disorders and dual diagnosis populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting assessments of patients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required
  • Mental status examinations
  • Providing appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the patient’s history, signs and symptoms
  • Proper documentation in the medical record of services rendered
  • Individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy, as needed
  • Crisis intervention services, including 5150 determinations
  • Treatment planning
  • Participation in medical record reviews
  • Utilization review activities, as required
  • Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements (i.e., suspected abuse; Tarasoff), professional boundaries and related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director/Administration
  • Providing supervision to counseling staff as deemed appropriate, including interns.
  • Conducting performance evaluations of interns or staff, as required.
  • In-service training to staff and/or trainees on mental health topics, as required.
  • Attending clinical and administrative committee meetings, as requested.
  • Maintaining proper documentation, as necessary, of clinical supervision
  • Participating in community events, presentations, meetings, and outreach on behalf of TTC
  • Additional functions as specifically requested by the Clinical Director, Program Director and/or Administration
