About The Position

The College of Nursing is hiring for a Clinical Supervisor to provide professional nursing support and direct patient care following established standards and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility.
• Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization, with awareness of related fields.
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Required valid Alabama nursing license.
• Required valid nursing license in the state where clinical supervision will occur.

Responsibilities

• Attends Clinical Associate Orientation and associated meetings.
• Supervises and teaches students in the assigned clinical area, encouraging critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Evaluates student paperwork and provides written feedback in a timely manner as designated by course faculty.
• Completes formative evaluations of each student on a weekly basis.
• Completes summative evaluations of each student at end of rotation.
• Upholds AUCON and AU policies included in student handbook.
• Promotes positive relationships with clinical facilities.
• Adheres to and uphold all clinical agency policies and procedures.
• Serves as a role model for professional behavior.
• Maintains ongoing communication with course faculty, health care facility staff, and students.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in area of clinical instruction.
• Attends Faculty Organization meetings as a non-voting member, if desired.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
