This opportunity is full-time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a day shift schedule. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Minimum of one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care specialty nursing.
  • Minimum of one year full time experience in Interventional Radiology Department.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire) as required by specialty.
  • Current Florida nursing license.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One to three years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others.
  • Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes.
  • Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.
  • Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
  • The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
  • The Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible and accountable for all nursing care provided to their patients.
  • The nurse is accountable to the patient, Department Manager, Department Director, Medical Director, and Chief Nurse Officer.
  • Under the direction of the Department Manager and Medical Director, the Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible for assisting the cardiologist and other allied professionals, both technically and clinically in the assessment, planning, executing and evaluating the care of Interventional patients.
  • The Imaging Procedural Nurse must be willing to cross train and float to other Imaging Service areas to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead.
  • Verbalizes stroke alert process.
  • Performs and documents the NIHSS, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate, preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated, assumes patient care of the stroke alert while in Interventional Radiology Department.
  • Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.
