About the position

The Clinical Supervisor (LCSW) at New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) is responsible for providing clinical supervision to therapists and interns, ensuring high-quality mental health services are delivered. This role involves direct clinical services, training, and oversight of clinical documentation, while fostering a supportive and educational environment for staff development. The position operates in a hybrid work model, primarily scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision for assigned staff, focusing on diagnostic, treatment planning, and intervention skills.
  • Work with Human Resources and the training team to provide ongoing training related to agency policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate the quality of individual clinicians and assist in improving their clinical skills and documentation.
  • Review case records to ensure compliance with regulations and agency policy regarding treatment plans, assessments, and progress notes.
  • Correct errors in supervisees' documentation and educate them on documentation requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination, development, and oversight of selected services or programs as assigned.
  • Participate in case reviews following psychiatric hospitalizations and incident reports.
  • Prepare written evaluations, Corrective Action Plans, and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Provide program coverage and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Hold regular supervision meetings with supervisees to discuss individual cases and document supervision in a log.
  • Ensure clients are treated at an appropriate level of care and that service utilization is clinically appropriate.
  • Monitor high-risk clients on clinicians' caseloads and ensure appropriate caseload sizes.
  • Review and approve cases for discharge.
  • Participate in supervisory conferences with the Administrator and other supervisors to discuss program issues.
  • Assist with training of new and existing staff.
  • Be on-call for selected weekends and evenings for consultation as needed.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited school in Social Work.
  • New York State LCSW certification is required.
  • 5 years of clinical experience working with inpatient or outpatient mental health.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • SIFI certification and experience supervising interns is a plus.
  • Ability to be on-call during off-hours and weekends by cell phone.
  • Outstanding engagement and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
