About the Job Provision of clinical supervision to an assigned group of Resident Talk Therapists who provide diagnostic assessments, therapy, and counseling in an outpatient setting for a diverse caseload that can include adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families.

  • Ability to be appropriately assertive in coaching residents on professional and clinical goals
  • Meets state regulatory requirements for the provision of supervision to include maintaining required licenses and certifications necessary to provide supervision to license-in-process individuals, those already approved by their state board for supervision preferred
  • Active credentialing with the required Incident-to panels within the state where supervision will be provided
  • Have been a Thriveworks Clinician for at least 3 months
  • LPCC Requirements: The supervisor shall have held an active, unrestricted LPCC in California for at least two years within the five-year period immediately preceding any supervision. The supervisor shall be competent in the areas of clinical practice and techniques being supervised and shall keep informed of developments in marriage and family therapy and in California law governing the practice of marriage and family therapy. The supervisor shall have had sufficient experience, training, and education in the area of clinical supervision to competently supervise trainees or associates. Persons licensed by the board who provide supervision shall complete the minimum supervision training or coursework specified in section 1834.
  • LCSW Requirements: The supervisor shall have held an active, unrestricted LCSW in California for at least two years within the five-year period immediately preceding any supervision. For at least two years within the five-year period immediately preceding any supervision, has practiced psychotherapy, provided psychological counseling pursuant to subdivision (e) of Section 4989.14, or provided direct clinical supervision of psychotherapy performed by associate clinical social workers, associate marriage and family therapists or trainees, or associate professional clinical counselors. Supervision of psychotherapy performed by a social work intern or a professional clinical counselor trainee shall be accepted if the supervision provided is substantially equivalent to the supervision required for registrants. Has received training in supervision as specified by California regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of supervision to a minimum of six (6) resident clinicians.
  • Provision of weekly group supervision.
  • Provision of individual supervision to each resident clinician for every 10 clinical hours. This would equate to a minimum of 7 hours/week for a supervisor, which varies depending on the Resident caseload size.
  • Willing to maintain a clinical caseload of seeing clients 10 sessions per week (not a supervision-only position)
  • Willingness to provide documentation oversight
  • Completion of weekly documentation as evidence of supervision sessions.
  • Completion of coaching documentation regarding any disciplinary or performance concerns.
  • Coaching on the professional and clinical development of the resident clinician
  • Collaboration with the Regional Clinical Director regarding any performance issues.
