About The Position

Easterseals Southern California is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to further a career in behavioral therapy and managing severe behaviors. This role provides quality clinical supervision and work direction to direct reports, delivering discipline-specific treatment for individuals with severe challenging behaviors diagnosed with autism, developmental delays, developmental disabilities, and/or other diagnoses. The Clinical Supervisor oversees all components of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs, ensuring high-quality services for participants and adherence to best-practice guidelines for their own caseload and assigned regions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in ABA or related field.
  • Possess and maintain a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Held BCBA certification for at least 1 year.
  • Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
  • Crisis Management Training (MCPP) Intermediate and (MCPP) Advanced (training provided during onboarding, continued employment contingent on successfully passing).
  • At least 2 years of professional experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), as an individual contributor (own caseload) in a multi-interdisciplinary team setting.
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience.
  • Typically, experience in managing severe behavior problems such as frequent property destruction, aggression toward others, SIB, PICA, etc. with adolescents and adults.
  • Expert knowledge of scientifically validated methodologies and behavioral analytic approaches found to benefit individuals with ASD, familiar with current related research findings.
  • Approach to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Strong competence in leading and completing Behavioral Assessments including descriptive assessment and experimental functional analysis.
  • Competence in providing training and implementing function-based intervention plans including Functional Communication Training (FCT).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Able to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Must relate well to families and maintain positive affect.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, demonstrate good judgement, and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity (a signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
  • Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate behavior programs for individuals with severe challenging behaviors based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Conduct assessments and experimental functional analysis.
  • Provide parent education, develop and deliver specific intervention activities, and function as a liaison between the organization, families, community, therapists, health care providers, etc.
  • Support both center-based and home-based services and operations.
  • Conduct evaluations, case-management reviews, quality assurance reviews and audits for own caseload, as assigned by Director of Several Behavior Services.
  • Meet productivity requirements set forth in annual budget.
  • Lead and/or attend staff meetings.
  • Prepare and provide specialized training and materials.
  • Lead and develop protocols for experimental functional analysis and other assessments.
  • Ensure associate responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are clearly defined and understood.
  • Manage and evaluate the performance and productivity of associates in assigned region.
  • Provide training and onboarding for new associates; ongoing training to assigned SBS Program Managers and SBS Behavior Technicians; and specialized training to associates preparing for various certifications.
  • Work with Director of SBS and Human Resources in the recruitment/selection process of new associates for the program in assigned region.
  • Oversee associates involved in the recruitment/selection process as needed.
  • Attend conferences and trainings to remain current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields.
  • Function as liaison between the organization, families, and other community agencies including regional centers, school programs, therapists, and health care providers, assisting with questions and concerns as they arise.
  • Support Behavior Technicians and Program Managers at least (2) 4 - hour shifts per week, in clinic.
  • Provide supervision hours to SBS Associates who are accruing BCBA practicum hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
