About The Position

The Mom's Meals Summer Internship Program is a paid project-based 12-week program running May 18, 2026, through August 7, 2026. Our internship program provides interns with the training, coaching, and hands-on experience to be successful professionals in their chosen fields. Internship assignments focus on practical, value-added projects that create a connection between what is learned in the classroom and what is required in the healthcare and manufacturing sectors. This can be a hybrid position but must be local to the Des Moines, IA area to work onsite three days/week. This internship will provide a unique opportunity to learn about Food as Medicine and Medically Tailored Meal (MTM) programs while gaining exposure to the clinical strategy behind Mom's Meals' healthcare initiatives. The Clinical Strategy Intern will support the Director of Clinical Strategy and Senior Vice President, Chief Nutrition Officer in development of clinical protocols, evidence-based practices, and innovative workflows that improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Currently a college sophomore level or higher; open to graduate-level candidates as well
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, or a related healthcare field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to research, synthesize, and summarize clinical and scientific information
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must have a wired internet connection using an ethernet port. Broadband internet wired to the home is required — Cable Modem/service or Fiber Optic. No Satellite, 4/5G, or DSL circuits

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting literature reviews or academic research
  • Familiarity with healthcare delivery models, chronic disease management, or population health
  • Interest in Food as Medicine and evidence-based nutrition practices

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and refining clinical protocols and workflows to support healthcare initiatives
  • Conduct literature reviews to identify and synthesize evidence-based practices
  • Support the creation of clinical program materials, workflows, and process documentation
  • Participate in strategic meetings with cross-functional teams, with opportunities to provide input and project deliverables
  • Contribute to special projects that advance Mom's Meals' clinical strategy and Food as Medicine approach
