Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Midnight Shift
About The Position
The Clinical Staff I Midnight Pharmacist supports overnight pharmacy operations while delivering critical clinical pharmacy services in a hospital environment. This role provides coverage across central pharmacy operations, admixture services, satellite pharmacy locations, and direct clinical support including pharmacokinetic consults, code coverage, and medication-related inquiries from providers and nursing staff. This position requires strong clinical judgment, advanced critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. The pharmacist collaborates closely with multidisciplinary care teams and contributes to safe, evidence-based medication management for complex patient populations. Night shift pharmacists work within a well-supported staffing model and utilize advanced technology systems designed to enhance medication safety.
Requirements
- Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
- Pharmacy practice residency or equivalent inpatient hospital experience preferred
- Licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required
- Candidates must obtain Virginia pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire if not already licensed
