About The Position

The Clinical Staff Operations Supervisor provides operational leadership and day-to-day support for clinical staff across provider practices. This role focuses on workforce standardization, onboarding coordination, competency validation, regulatory readiness, and workflow optimization. The position supports the development of scalable operational infrastructure that promotes safe, efficient, and reliable care delivery. The role partners with clinical and administrative leaders to enhance care coordination, improve operational consistency, and support data-driven improvement. This position does not provide routine staffing coverage. Clinical competency is maintained to support patient safety and operational continuity in urgent or emergent situations only, and limited cross-training may be utilized when necessary as determined by the Clinical Staff Operations Manager. 1. Performance Improvement and Data Monitoring 6. Clinical Support PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 1. CLINICAL STAFF OPERATIONS LEADERSHIP a. Provide day-to-day operational leadership and consultation for clinical staff and practice leadership. a. Serve as a primary operational contact for assigned provider practices and support alignment of daily operations with organizational goals. b. Support workforce utilization, staffing model alignment, and resource optimization in collaboration with the Clinical Staff Operations Manager. c. Identify operational variation, workflow gaps, and system-level risks and escalate opportunities for improvement. d. Partner with practice leadership to enhance care coordination, patient flow, and operational reliability. 2. ONBOARDING, COMPETENCY, AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT a. Coordinate standardized onboarding, orientation, and cross-training of clinical staff across practices. b. Develop and maintain competency validation tools, skills checklists, and training pathways to promote workforce scalability. c. Assess clinical competence and support ongoing professional development and clinical excellence. d. Mentor clinical team leads and support leadership readiness and succession development. 3. STANDARDIZATION AND OPERATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE a. Support development, implementation, and annual review of job descriptions, policies, and standard operating procedures. b. Promote consistent workflows, evidence-informed practices, and operational standardization across provider practices. c. Support implementation of organizational initiatives and process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and care quality. 4. REGULATORY AND QUALITY OVERSIGHT a. Support survey readiness, including tracer methodology, documentation review, and audit support. b. Assist with event investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning. c. Promote alignment with regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and patient safety standards. d. Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, Education, and Infection Prevention teams to strengthen clinical operations and reduce risk. 5. PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT AND DATA MONITORING a. Monitor workforce, operational, and patient experience performance indicators. b. Support data-driven improvement initiatives and change management efforts. c. Track and communicate progress on operational and clinical improvement initiatives to leadership. d. Use benchmarking, best-practice research, and operational insights to identify opportunities for system-level enhancement. 6. CLINICAL SUPPORT a. Maintain clinical competency to support patient safety and operational continuity. b. Provide limited clinical support in urgent or emergent situations only, as directed by the Clinical Staff Operations Manager. This role does not serve as a routine staffing resource. Clinical preparation or orientation specific to the circumstance may be completed as necessary to ensure safe care delivery.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Associates in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: BLS certification or obtains within six months of hire; Active Registered Nurse License from the KY Board of Nursing (KBN)
  • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Nursing leadership experience in outpatient or provider practice settings preferred.
  • TRAVEL: Travel to all provider practice clinics of Ohio County Healthcare, found in Ohio, Daviess, and Butler Co, KY, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with regulatory compliance, process improvement, Joint Commission and CMS standards, infection prevention, policy development, competency validation, and workflow optimization strongly preferred.
