About The Position

The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist provides comprehensive patient care services through inpatient pharmacy functions, including but not limited to order entry/verification, medication checking/dispensing and other pertinent tasks that ensure safe and effective use of medications. The Pharmacist may also rotate into ambulatory roles such as anticoagulation clinic services, oncology or others as determined by Manager. The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist will be involved in patient care activities supporting a variety of patient populations, ranging from geriatrics to pediatrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
  • Recent hospital experience preferred.
  • Pharmacy residency experience preferred if rotating to an Ambulatory position.
  • Advanced practice certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of all current state and federal laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.
  • Ability to positively interact with other pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, providers, nurses, and other health system employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for reciprocation in Pennsylvania within 90 days of hire.
  • Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
