About The Position

The position oversees daily workflow in a department or specialty service, including monitoring human resources, equipment, supplies, volumes, and quality. Responsibilities include orientation of new employees, yearly competencies, and ongoing training regarding the specialty or services. The role requires leading and motivating staff, initiating change, and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control guidelines. The position also involves participation in decision-making, financial management, and maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare providers to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
• One (1) to three (3) years' experience within departmental settings either as a nurse or technician.
• Strong leadership ability and good organizational skills.
• Independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to a diverse audience.

Nice To Haves

• National Certification in area of specialty.
• Credits toward an undergraduate degree in health or management field.
• Three (3) years of relevant procedural nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads, motivates, and initiates change in a complex care environment.
• Assumes the role of Charge Nurse in their absence.
• Aligns department with strategy map and implements drivers in support of Excela Health mission and vision.
• Makes recommendations for process improvement initiatives annually.
• Participates in root cause analysis of recurring problems.
• Maintains a safe working environment and assures compliance with safety guidelines.
• Supports staff compliance with infection control and safety measures.
• Oversees daily clinical practice activities to ensure patient care is delivered according to standards.
• Develops educational processes for patient care activities.
• Maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provides direct patient care as assigned.
