About The Position

The Clinical Specialist Resident assesses, plans, implements prescribed physical therapy treatments and supervises individual patient care. Functions as a member of the Rehabilitation team in providing quality services autonomously in a Hospital setting. Assists patients to prevent disability and aims toward the promotion of maximal patient and caregiver participation and responsibility for the recovery program following disease, injury, surgery or loss of a body part. Provides care according to Physical Therapy, Medical Center policies and procedures and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with discipline specific designated practice act. Is responsible for providing in-patients services under physician's orders. Fosters a constructive and supportive approach to department operations. Promotes professional, collegial relationships. Understands economic constraints and practices are designed to conserve resources. Supervises Physical Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Aide, and Rehabilitation Technicians when indicated. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required if graduated after 2007 from an accredited educational program.
  • Currently licensed by California Board of Physical Therapy.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems preferred.
  • Good communication skills with team members, patients, caregivers, and physicians.
