About The Position

The centralized Health team provides guidance and support to Google’s product areas for the development of health-related products and services. Experts within the Health team are focused on a range of topics including clinical expertise, industry solutioning, regulatory/quality/safety, and employee health and safety. We support products across Google that touch the health and well-being of people on a global scale. Within the Health team, the Clinical Team is a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and other health professionals, as well as clinical researchers, public health experts, and people who have run health systems and it forms a global team with experience across every layer of health in a range of geographies (US, EMEA, APAC and more). This team works closely with groups within Google. Google for Health is a company-wide effort to help billions of people be healthier. Requirements

  • Advanced degree in one of the following fields: Doctor of Medicine (MD, DO, MBBS), Registered Nurse ( with a DNP, or MPH), PharmD or Doctor of Public Health (DrPH).
  • 5 years of experience working directly in or providing consultation to state or local public health departments.
  • 3 years of experience in a role focused on the implementation, program management, or support of public health programs or health technology.
  • Experience in one or more core state/local public health domains, such as infectious disease detection/pre, chronic disease prevention, maternal and child health, or environmental health.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with generative AI/LLM, including evaluating outputs, implementation, or launching products.
  • Experience deploying or integrating health information technology (HIT) like EHRs, visualization tools, or surveillance systems.
  • Experience in environments, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and partner teams.
  • Understanding of state/local public health operations, privacy regulations, and data-sharing constraints.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, navigate ambiguity, and thrive in changing settings.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead clinical and public health subject matter expert (SME) for state and local government, supporting the scaled use of Google's health and AI products.
  • Provide guidance to health departments on leveraging Google's tools for public health challenges like infectious disease surveillance, chronic disease prevention, etc.
  • Develop training materials, guides, and case studies tailored for public health users to support implementation and adoption.
  • Support product, research, and implementation teams by managing public sector relationships to build trust, while providing critical clinical and public health context during deployment and launch.
  • Maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, translating on-the-ground issues into actionable insights for product and research teams.
