As CS Lead Respiratory Care, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership of your assigned team. You will also serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and three years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including critical care or a specialty environment OR Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy
  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
  • Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Completion of a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management.
  • Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff.
  • Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement.
  • Provide feedback on staff performance.
  • Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols.
  • Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs.
  • Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable).
  • Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable).
  • If designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations.
