About The Position

The Clinical Specialist for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) at Medtronic plays a crucial role in supporting surgical coverage, follow-up, troubleshooting, customer service, and education within a designated territory. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or
  • Associate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of clinical or medical sales experience.

  • Registered nurse or healthcare professional with experience in a sterile environment
  • Clinical experience with implantable neurological products and patient care
  • Experience in servicing medical personnel on product use
  • Experience with a medical device or pharmaceutical company, and clinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic, operating room, pain management, or home health care
  • Understanding of basic reimbursement and healthcare environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Medtronic DBS during surgeries and implants by providing necessary equipment and demonstrating expertise in implantation and follow-up support.
  • Maintain current knowledge about assigned products and competitive offerings.
  • Proactively identify needs and educate caregivers and account employees in new and existing accounts.
  • Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and office staff on technical matters related to products and therapies.
  • Coordinate one-on-one sessions, in-service education programs, seminars, and symposiums for training purposes.
  • Assist district manager and in-house training department in educating new employees in the district.
  • Provide sales support during or after cases, including documentation and invoicing.
  • Place orders with customer service for pending purchase orders and product replacements.
  • Maintain open communication with district personnel, customers, and other Medtronic employees.
  • Contribute to project milestones at regional and national levels.
  • Ensure understanding of quality policies and compliance with work procedures.
