About The Position

The Clinical Social Worker / Professional Counselor at LSU's Student Health Center provides tailored clinical mental health treatment to LSU students. This role is integral to the Mental Health Service team, collaborating with various health programs and ensuring a commitment to quality care and community integration.

Requirements

• Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited program or a master's degree in mental health counseling from a CACREP or MPCAC accredited program.
• Three years of experience in social work or community counseling.
• One year of clinical work experience in a multidisciplinary mental health setting.
• LCSW licensed by the LA Board of Social Work Examiners or LPC/LMFT licensed by the LA Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Clinical experience working with a young adult population.
• Clinical experience in an integrated healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual, couple, and group psychotherapy, both in-person and through telehealth, focusing on a brief model of psychotherapy.
• Conducts initial assessments, crisis interventions, and referrals to community and campus resources.
• Offers mental health consultation to faculty, staff, and parents regarding students in distress.
• Manages caseload and collaborates with fellow providers for peer review and care practices.
• Attends team and departmental meetings and provides training and supervision to mental health interns.
• Carries out administrative responsibilities including documentation and appointment scheduling.
• Participates in quality improvement studies and required annual training for the center.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Mental Health Service.
