The Clinical Site Specialist for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program at HSU is a part-time role focused on the recruitment, development, and retention of clinical sites for supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPE). This position involves ensuring compliance with clinical site requirements, maintaining relationships with clinical preceptors, and managing documentation related to clinical sites and preceptors.

  • Conduct clinical site recruitment and development, including background research on clinical preceptors.
  • Travel to meet prospective preceptors and orient them on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate clinical sites for adequacy in space, access to medical records, and security measures.
  • Maintain and surveil current clinical sites and preceptors, ensuring evaluations are conducted every three years.
  • Create a systematic review process for clinical site evaluations and address any concerning feedback with urgent site visits.
  • Upload clinical preceptor and site documents into the clinical tracking software, ensuring all paperwork is complete and compliant.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Current licensure in the State of Texas (or ability to obtain license) in the applicant's area of healthcare specialty.
  • Recent or current clinical practice experience caring for patients preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with students, staff, and healthcare populations.
  • Active membership in related professional organizations preferred.
  • Part-time position with hourly compensation, eligible for overtime pay beyond 40 hours per week.
