About The Position

Responsible for the recruitment and retention of clinical practice sites for students during their clinical clerkship. Recruits preceptors to teach and supervise students during their clinical clerkship. This position involves extensive traveling throughout the day. Responsibilities Travels statewide (Texas) to perform targeted outreach and to develop new clinical placement sites and support the continued satisfaction of established preceptors for students during their supervised clinical practice experiences. Travels to State and Nationwide conferences and meetings to advocate for the Program. Assists with coordination and implementation of the clinical education component of the curriculum and clinical phase sites. Maintains student clinical placement schedules and contact preceptors about accepting students. Maintains clinical rotation databases and arrange student housing for clinical rotations. Processes required credentialing paperwork. Contacts new clinical rotation sites for affiliation agreements/contracts and assist with agreements as needed. Collaborates with clinical faculty to include clinical coordinator, maintain and enhance relationships with physicians, clinics and hospital to include preceptors and clinical site personnel. Act as liaison between preceptor, student and program. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of health care systems/settings i.e. clinics and hospitals and medical terminology Intermediate
  • Experience in health care provider development to be able to obtain facility agreements/contracts with a proven track record. Intermediate
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Advanced
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians. Advanced
  • Strong attention to detail, results-­oriented. Advanced

  • Bachelor's Degree degree in Marketing/Communications/Health care or related field.
