Ensures proper educational training for the staff in Personal Care / Skilled Care / Homecare / Hospice — from general orientation to yearly required information. This nurse serves as a support for the Administrator and Executive Director for reports and special projects as needed to ensure all objectives are obtained and completed accordingly.

  • Coordinate education and tracking of employee education including competencies for Nurses and CNAs.
  • Coordinate education and tracking of employee education for PCAs.
  • Hands on training and follow through on training for the first month.
  • Coordinate and complete new employee 1st day orientation and coordinate mentors and training.
  • Weekly check in's and follow through on training for the first month.
  • Addressing all positives and reinforcing necessary training as well as evaluating employee progress. Determine based on individual needs how long training will be.
  • New employee evaluations monthly for the first three months.
  • Work with nursing managers / administrators
  • Monitor all buildings education completion for staff — Nursing departments and assist as needed with other departments.
  • Staff retention
  • Audits of Homecare paperwork as required and education provided as indicated.
  • Audits of nursing care / medical records in clinical buildings.
  • Assis in response to resident, family or physician concerns and initiate corrective action where appropriate or suggest alternative course of action.
  • Counsel and conduct additional education or disciplinary action with nursing personnel with assistance of Director of Nursing and / or Administrator.
  • Attend QAPI meetings and complete any necessary QAs as indicated
  • Assist in survey preparation.
  • Assist in responsibility for compliance with state regulations of Personal Care Homes and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
  • May act in the role of Charge Nurse overseeing total nursing activities within the facility.
  • May perform direct resident care tasks when necessary to ensure resident health and safety.
  • Medication pass audits for all medication trained PCAs as required by DPW.
  • Follow established standards of nursing practices and implement policies and procedures.
  • Plan, schedule and conduct education in-services as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings, classes and committee meetings as assigned
  • Assist in coordination and keeping staff current with CPR, Diabetic and Medication Pass Training.
  • Conduct all other duties as assigned by the Administrator or Executive Director
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the Commonwealth of PA.
  • Be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Train the Trainer course completion.
